On our final day, we arrived back in Seattle and deboarded by 8am. We hailed a cab to take us (Dave, Lanell, Patrick, Leesa, Jonny, and Christi) to the Space Needle. At the base of the Space Needle is the EMP (Experience Music Project) Museum and the Science Fiction Museum. They were both fascinating. Touring made Christi want to buy some Jimmy Hendrix music and check out more science fiction novels. We passed a few hours there then headed up to the top of the Space Needle for our lunch reservation. It was delicious. The portions were generous and the scenery outside the windows as we rotated was neat to see.
A father was treating his probably 10-year old to a birthday dessert. They served his dessert in a goblet that was nestled in a bowl of dried ice. It created a very cool visual effect with clouds covering the whole table but not the food making it look like their dishes were floating.
After lunch we rode the Monorail at the base of the Space Needle to a junction where we transferred to the Light Rail which took us to the airport. Upon arriving in Phoenix, it was overcast and humid sprinkling a little which made for a nice transition from beautiful weather back to hot/sunny Arizona.
We were happy to see our kids again and distribute our souvenirs.
