Clark Drama

Occasionally, Missoula Children's Theater rolls into town.  They hold try-outs on Mondays, practice daily, then perform for the public on Friday or Saturday.  This year's play was "The Tortoise and the Hare" with a little twist, of course.

Jay, Nikki, and Britton auditioned and each received a part.  Despite being typically shy, they actually threw out some personality while auditioning. I was proud of them. Jay is Oggy Froggy and has 24 speaking lines (22 with a group of kids and 2 on his own). Nikki is Franky Ferret and has 10 speaking lines with 4 of them on her own. Britton is part of the Hare fan club.  Other friends of ours participating were the Jacobsons, Lermas, and Youngs.  Nikki's teacher, Ms. Pittman, was so sweet to come and see her play.




Megan Young is the artist in yellow.  Her brother, Ian, is the Italian cameraman to her left.  Britton is the adorable bunny front and center with Jay as Oggy Froggy peering between his long ears.  Julie Jacobson is the reptile on the top row, far right.

Britton played a part in the Hare Fan Club for "Curly Burly".  Jay is Oggy Frogg pictured above Britton.

The kids learned a couple new games during their rehearsals:  "Follow the Leader" and "Still waters".  To play "Follow the Leader", someone is sent out of the room while everyone else agrees on one leader.  Each person has to copy the leader's movements.  The person that was sent out must then come back in and try to figure out who is the leader.  To play "Still Waters", each person must choose a position and freeze.  Two people circulate around and try to make them laugh or move.  They can only move when they are not being watched.
