And then it was Fair time! Jay and Nikki both showed their poultry. Nikki also showed her rabbit. After Pre-Fair, it became apparent that the children needed to brush up on confidence skills and knowledge. We didn't want them just to go through the motions so we opted to allow them to spend $60 of their fair money if they received a purple ribbon. $40 for a blue. $20 for a red. Jay earned a purple ribbon for his showmanship. Nikki earned a blue ribbon for her showmanship. Nikki also received a blue ribbon for her cake interview. We were so proud to see them articulate with confidence. They each auctioned an animal and earned $200 to put into their bank accounts.

Bill and Laurel had the same week of spring break. They drove through Yuma and took a couple kids to California with them. We met them for a day at the beach and had a wonderful time:
