Emily and Christian organized a family campout at Bear Canyon Lake near Payson. Six of the eight Crandall kids were there with their families as well as Jonny's brother Will and kids.
Despite being freezing, windy, and dusty, it was a good experience. It was so hot in Phoenix, Yuma, and Tucson that we all showed up in light clothing and froze together. Some of the highlights were bottle rocket blasting, paint-ball shooting, a failed geo-cache hunt, catching craw-dads and a campfire program with good participation (singing Chicka Boom and Ah-Too-Dee-Tah) and family skits. The Clarks performed the "fetch me my brown pants" skit.

| Britton got a black eye. I saw the goose egg form immediately and was so grateful that he didn't have a concussion. He was playing with a flexible campsite marker by bending it downwards, putting rocks on it, and using it as a catapult. I thought I'd put a stop to it, but he had to try it one more time. It came up and hit him on the side of his eye. |
