We are still situated here in Yuma, Arizona and expect we'll never move. Jonny still works at the Yuma Proving Grounds and Christi still works for the Cardiopulmonary Department at the hospital occasionally. The kids are growing older, taller, busier, and in some cases even more helpful. As of yet, we still haven't found a moment to take a family picture this year but hope to soon.
Jay is 10 years old, in 4th grade, a Webelos scout, loves math/science and reading, and is just starting his third year of soccer. He also started 4-H this year and has two Polish chickens named Calvin and Hobbes. He's practicing his showmanship skills for the judges at the next county fair.
Nikki is 9 years old, in 3rd grade, loves reading and animals. This is her first year of 4H. She is expecting to get a mini-lop rabbit today. She too has been attending rabbit meetings and practicing showmanship skills for the county fair. She also has a Lovebird named Sunny.
Britton started kindergarten this year and his reading and writing skills are really taking off. Paper has become a valuable commodity in our house. He loves to draw pictures and send love notes. He is starting his 2nd year of soccer and is very excited.
Josh is attending Preschool where he works with a speech therapist. He is improving and making more conversation all the time. Previously he would shrug and say hmmp because it wasn't worth the effort to him to explain anything. It's fun to hear him tell about all his friends at school now and to be able to understand him better. He has the most beautiful smile and loves to be silly.
Darren is beginning to speak in sentences and is growing up too fast. He loves to be outside with the chickens and to jump on the trampoline. We used to think he had a key fetish until we realized that he likes to hold onto the car keys so that he knows when we're leaving. This, of course, means that Daddy's keys are his favorite.
